The Techno-Insanity Scam

Mister Mix took care of the ongoing, daily madness that is Trump this morning so there’s no use in another post on the insanity except to re-emphasize who he truly is and my view on how to fight back in a time when we, the “opposition”, have precious little institutional power to wield.

When I said in my previous post to treat him (and his cronies) with ridicule and derision, I mean we all need to stop trying to rationally respond to Trump and his “views on policies” because HE HAS NONE. He only has whatever primal survival urges his mentally ill brain directs to him – everything he thinks, says and does is about protecting his malignant narcissism. No matter what he says/does, The Way is not to respond directly to his whims of the moment with counter-ideas; The Way is to brush off whatever he said/did and respond by reiterating his madness/sickness and challenging others to recognize it as such.

Now…

Some day in the not-too-distant future we will have to deal with the growing inequality in our society, as well as the power of the tech billionaires who are working hard to reshape our society (both quietly and brazenly) based on their twisted techno-state views.

Here is another example of Musk trying to convince us he is the “visionary” he thinks he is by spouting complete and utter horseshit:

That twist on Doc Brown's famous line from "Back to the Future" captures Elon Musk's controversial view that future retirees won't need nest eggs.

"Don't worry about squirreling money away for retirement in 10 or 20 years," the Tesla and SpaceX CEO told the "Moonshots with Peter Diamandis" podcast earlier this month. "It won't matter."

The world's richest man predicted that advances in AI, energy, and robotics will generate such an "abundance" of resources for all that individuals' retirement savings will be "irrelevant."

The "good future is anyone can have whatever stuff they want," Musk said. That would mean "better medical care than anyone has today, available for everyone within five years," he continued. "No scarcity of goods and services. You can learn anything you want about anything for free."

All this talk of abundance and Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) which will essentially become smarter than humans and rule over us benevolently is a con game. Again, I’d refer you to the recent book called More Everything Forever by University of Michigan astrophysicist Adam Becker. While a bit dense at times, Becker refutes the case for the AGI con game as well as anyone.

The part that stuns me about Musk, Thiel, Sacks, Altman, etc. and their scam is their assumption that AGI will 1) basically provide for all our needs at minimal cost (even though producing real goods will still take… capital, labor, massive amounts of energy and natural resources), and 2) because humans will have everything they want/need, somehow human nature – and our predilection towards conflict, fear of the “other”, religious differences, envy, jealousy, and the rest of the Seven Deadly Sins – will somehow just disappear and we will all become satiated utopian souls.

Once Trump departs the scene (and he will one way or another, no matter what wreckage he leaves in his path), part of rebuilding process will necessitate having the courage and tenacity to rein in the obscene wealth and inordinate power that tech billionaires currently possess.
