This tickles all of the “oh no” buttons for those who want to concern troll about Democrats fighting facists. “Oh, no, gerrymandering is bad, why are you doing it?” Because we don’t want to fight with one hand tied behind our back. “Oh, no, you’re disenfranchising rural voters!” They have the most lopsided influence in our politics already, no need to shed tears over them.

We all need to summon our internal Louise Lucas, and respond to the bad faith arguments the way she has. If, by some miracle, we get to a place where a Democratic Congress and President get serious about Supreme Court reform, “You all started it and we’re fucking finishing it” is the only right response to the “Oh, no!” chorus.
