Win Some / Lose Some

Wisconsin good, Florida as expected

Let’s start with Florida, where the results from both Congressional special elections were roughly the same: 57/43 for the Republican. This was in districts that went 66/34 for the Republican in the last election, so there’s nothing good in those outcomes for Republicans, though they did get two more seats in the House.

The lesson from Florida is that the district that had some polling showing an almost upset turned out the same as the one that didn’t. Special elections are hard to poll, period.

In Wisconsin, despite the millions that King Elon poured into the election, Susan Crawford is ahead 55/45 as of this moment. She’ll win, and it was with the help of Ben Wikler. What a lost opportunity for the DNC.

Anything that shows that Musk’s money isn’t everything in our politics is a good thing, so this is a win as far as I’m concerned.
