This has the makings of a strange story:

First,

Second,

Third,

Fourth,

Fifth,

And, finally,

Let’s recap:

  • Mitch McConnell had a heart attack and CPR nearly one nth ago on June 14

  • He has not been seen or heard from since

  • His loving wife travelled to China within 3 days of that “episode” and we still don’t know where she is currently or why she went to China

  • McConnell’s office won’t even confirm if he is conscious

  • If McConnell is declared “legally dead” before Aug 3., Kentucky will be able to hold a special election to elect his successor and it very well could be Thomas Massie

  • If he dies after Aug 3, the Kentucky legislature gets to name his replacement (it used to be the Governor - who is a Democrat - until McConnell pushed ot have the law changed relatively recently

I’m with @aremedy on this one:

Surely, Democrats in Kentucky and nationally should be doing everything they can to force the issue here. We need to know if McConnell is alive or legally dead. We cannot let them run out the clock…
