What a Week

I had some travel bullshit going on so I haven’t posted for a couple of days, but holy shit these MAGA grifters really had a week. The asinine peace trophy, Hegseth & Co teaching an ambitious admiral with no scruples what no scruples really looks like, the girls fighting in Congress because Mike Johnson is — wait for it — a patriarchal asshole. The 13 point underperformance of the GOP candidate in TN-07 didn’t help their equilibrium. They’re clearly “disregulated” to use a therapy term.

No sane person wants to be near them. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is famous for flying commercial, but she said she had to take a military airplane to the FIFA draw in DC because reasons, which boiled down to her wanting to get her ass in and out of there ASAP. I mean, who would want to hang around with Trump, or even be seen with him? Any time spent with Trump risks some kind of senile action from him, based on an imagined slight. In DC, the slight would have been the ad hoc fiesta that would accompany Claudia’s appearance at Dulles as she disembarked an Aeromexico flight.

By the way, the head of FIFA gave Claudia a gift when he was in Mexico City — a ticket to the World Cup. She’s going to donate it to young girl who likes sports. Compare that to our doddering fool who needs a bribe in the form of a golden dingleberry supported by four hands in order to play well with others.

Also, Hakeem Jeffries, Jesus Fucking Christ. Trump’s pardon of Cuéllar was “exactly the right outcome.” These people just can’t quit Henry Cuéllar! He’s heroin in electoral form. They’re such a bunch of chickenshits about the next election, which I grant you will be close, that they flush whatever scruples they have down the nearest toilet in a grasping, pathetic attempt to keep one of the worst members of Congress in a seat.

When I see something like those posters above, or really any fighting back from any oppressed minority, the bluebird in my heart wakes up and pays attention. Like most of you, I want a fight, and I want it to start now.

The Jeffries/Schumer business as usual, filibuster forever, slight change in leadership, do-little strategy for 2026 and 2028 is not a fight. It is, perhaps at most, a tiny whimper delivered from whipped puppy. By the time these MAGA fucks are done with DC, the decimation will be something beyond anything we’ve seen in this country. The current leadership of the Democratic Party is too scared to talk about anything but healthcare and perhaps war crimes if they’re pushed (though the leadership isn’t doing that talking, it’s rank and file members). They have no plan for the reforming the grossly corrupt Supreme Court, for re-establishment of the rule of law and the role of Congress, for the radical change that our healthcare system needs, or anything else that would make someone want to vote for them.

In the words of Former Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, “There can be no half measures, it’s either corruption or transformation.” This lesson has not been taken to heart by the Democrats in powerful positions to the north of AMLO’s home country.

I guess Kay and Joe’s job on this blog is to make sense. I supply the rants.
