Rep Maxine Dexter, D-OR-3 is going to El Salvador to demand the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Good for her. She’s a physician (pulmonologist) and Abrego Garcia has high blood pressure, so I hope she takes her medical bag and gives him a thorough exam. Is he getting all his meds? Let’s have a full fucking report. The news would looove a picture of her taking his blood pressure.

Adam Schiff and Alex Padilla and Juan Vargas (D-CA-52) represent the “gay makeup artist”, Andry Hernandez Romero, who was held in San Diego and then deported to the gulag. Perhaps they should talk to their travel agents. Schiff says a lot of pretty words. Let’s see some lovely action.

It’s not clear where the man with the autism tattoo, Neri Jose Alvarado Borges was from, exactly — somewhere in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He could be a constituent of Jasmine Crockett. I’m not going to expect her to do anything, since she’s taken a ton of shit, but maybe she might be interested in a trip.

We couldn’t seem to keep Signalgate front and center, and now it’s like it never happened. So here’s to hoping.

On the bright side, yesterday’s protests were in full force around here. Great to see the regular people who have everything to lose get out there and make their voices heard.

Agree on Signalgate. This one is a little more relatable and scary -- a guy grabbed off the street and sent to a gulag without due process. So I think it will naturally have more legs.

I know we tried, but the rubber-spined Dems in Congress couldn't figure out how to flog this easy target. Remember when Dems were in charge in the House, but the Repubs set up their own investigations of Clinton and Biden anyway? It's really easy to to, but elected Dems have no appetite for circuses.

Let’s hold off on judgment of Schiff. He has been the subject of constant death threats since Trump’s first term. It may not be safe for him to travel to El Salvador. He’s not safe in the U.S. The fact that he continues to speak out is significant.

This "Oh no, people are being threatened so they can't lead" thing is not a sign of a healthy democracy. Extremely visible people are always threatened. These threats to elected officials need to be taken more seriously than they are. The way certain threats are exaggerated and other threats completely dismissed is not great for our country.

If he can't speak out, then he really has no business being the Senate minority leader.

Pelosi was still leading after her husband was physically attacked.

Trump completely dismissed that Shapiro's place was set on fire, but Trump was shot at multiple times so ... The state of politics is not particular healthy at the moment.

My wife stumbled onto the rebroadcast of Bill Maher on CNN last night. One of the two guests was an editor at the glibertarian rag, Reason.

He basically said the exact same thing, ie., political violence here needs to be taken more seriously. Maher than rattled off a list of stuff dating back to 2019.

I know when I agree, at least on the surface, with a Reason clown, there's something to it. :)

AOC gets more threats and is doing far more dangerous things. I'd argue that going to El Salvador is safer than standing up in front of big crowds in red states. Bukele killing or injuring a US Senator would mean that he'd be arrested and brought to the US for trial at some point, even if it is post-Trump.

She won her district with 67.7% of the vote so this is exactly the kind of thing you've been pushing other Dems nobody's heard off, cough Degette DeGette , to do.

One thing I've seen talking heads on cable have to say tho, is always steer this back to "It's all about due process" whenever everybody else on cable, repeats the Hair Furor talking point that's it's about deporting CRIMINALS!!!!!! MAKING US SAFER!!!!!!!!

But at least there are plenty of people constantly bring it back to due process where it belongs.
