AZ-07, Jeffries, Crypto

Adelita Grijalva won the AZ-07 primary easily, beating Deja Foxx, her closest competition, by 40+ points. This wasn’t a Mamdani vs. Cuomo type of primary — she’s got a track record of being progressive and odds are she’ll be pretty good. I hope to see Foxx running for other seats in the district.

Speaking of Mamdani, this:

Hakeem Jeffries again declines to endorse Zohran Mamdani, saying "I don't know him well." CHRIS HAYES: Why are you not endorsing the guy that won the democratic primary in a contested election in your backyard? JEFFRIES: I didn't get involved in that primary election, and I don't know him well.

TBone also mentioned this in the comments. Jeffries has to go.

Scott sent this the other day and I guess while we’re cataloging Democratic failure, might as well add this grifting piece of shit to the list of grifting pieces of shit:

“The very voters we need to win” — white incels living in their parents’ basements. Come on.

Texas is going to Texas:

Democrats’ political woes just got darker. Recently, the Texas Legislature reconvened to reconfigure Democratic-leaning congressional districts to elect Republicans. The New York Times reports that anywhere between 2 and 5 Democratic-held seats in Texas are vulnerable, and President Donald Trump has instructed the legislature to target 5 Democratic incumbents. Considering the currently-close makeup of the House, this could place a significant hurdle for Democratic efforts to flip the chamber in 2026.

I have seen different takes on this — some people think the Texas Republican party is overreaching and if it’s a wave year, they might endanger some of the districts where they siphoned off Republicans. Still, not great.
