CNN has breathless coverage of the White House Correspondents’ dinner from last night. You can read it if you need an emetic. The title of this post comes from spokesliar Karoline Leavitt’s description of Trump’s speech. According to WHCD president Weijia Jiang, ““We are back. We will not be intimidated. We refuse to let an act of violence have the final word.” Of course, they’re intimidated and cower in fear from Trump Administration threats on the daily, but let’s not talk about that.

These sad sycophants are all bending the knee to the person who’s arguably done more to kill the free press than any other figure in US history. Example:

The context here is Trump’s effort to subpoena the New York Times to punish the journalists who reported the fact that his Qatari bribe plane didn’t have all of the security measures that are required to be Air Force One. The feds withdrew the subpoenas Thursday.

Honestly, I don’t want to know. It’s just another example of the pathetic failure of an institution that was never any good. Unfortunately, like a lot of no-good institutions in our current decline, they’re still occupying space.
