Trump rants more when his poll numbers sink

WSJ has new polling analysis showing where Trump is losing support. I find the WSJ less Trump-conflicted than the NYTimes. I think the NYTimes has been covering for sleazy real estate heirs like Trump for decades and they are just not an objective source on Donald Trump or the particularly vehement and mean-spirited urban East Coast far Right that Trump exemplifies.
After broadening the Republican coalition, Trump is at risk of shrinking it. Trump came close to winning young voters—those under age 30—in 2024, a sharp reversal from his 25-point loss among young voters in 2020. He also made gains among Black, Hispanic and other minority groups, losing by a far smaller margin than in 2020. And he improved his showing among seniors.
Now that he is back in the White House, these groups have grown increasingly unhappy with his job performance.
Not surprising- Trump’s softest support eroded first. But there’s a split forming within WWC where perhaps Ds could make some gains:
Even among white, working-class voters, Trump now draws equivocal or even negative job ratings among women. His support remains strong, by contrast, among white men who don’t have a four-year degree.
I maintain that Democrats can increase their share of white non college voters by increasing their share among white working class women, who are now and always have been more persuadable than white men.
Why does it matter? Why bother? Because 70% of voters are white and 70% of white voters didn’t go to college. It’s still early of course but Trump’s declining popularity has not led to an increase in popularity for Democrats. We are going to have to convert some segment of disgruntled Trump 2024 voters into people who will come out and vote for a Democrat.
