Treat Me Like a Fool

But you’re wrong...

Yesterday, Hakeem Jeffries boldly proclaimed that he was going to vote against the bill funding the DHS, and therefore vote against funding ICE. Good.

Then it was reported that the House Democratic leadership team wasn’t whipping the vote against ICE. Bad.

Jeffries’ position on ICE is now the political equivalent of lukewarm, lumpy oatmeal. I guess he’s against a bunch of goons who kill mothers on the streets for no reason, personally. But, politically and professionally, he’s not against it enough to do the bare minimum to try to curtail their worst abuse of federal police power that we’ve seen in a long time.

He and the rest of the Democratic leadership team obviously think that we’re a bunch of dummies. We’re so stupid that we’re going to take him at his word and ignore his actions.

Well, the time for pretty words is over. The time for action is here, and Jeffries, once again, isn’t doing shit, other than sticking his card in the slot and voting “no”. That’s not enough for a guy who’s ostensibly the leader of the Demcratic Party in the House.

There are a lot of brave people on the streets in Minnesota and other places. They deserve better than this.
