There's No Winning In More Border Enforcement

Democrats will never be able to be tougher than Republicans in the story they tell right wing media

This is what the New York Times says about immigration:

Yet I just watched Tom Homan on Ari Melber’s MSNBC show with my dad, and Homan said that the Biden administration had “open borders” and the decline in border apprehensions is a sign that the Trump administration closed the borders. Melber tried to push back, but Trump appointees are quite good at basic media training and they filibuster and talk over the host when they’re being interviewed and hear things they don’t like.

Democrats can increase border enforcement to a level of CBP officers linking hands across the entire Mexican border, and we’d still be accused of being weak on immigration. There’s no win here for us. We must just let go of the 30-40% of the country who just want no immigrants here because brown people with their different languages and odd customs make them uncomfortable. We need to find a way to tell the other 60-70% that we want a sane immigration policy. I realize this is obvious and repetitive, but that’s politics.

On a side note, if I wanted to cast “dumb cop who misses obvious clues” in my new detective mystery, Homan would be a great choice.
