Today was going to be a self-imposed day to play hooky. But after Trump’s speech and some of the other things he said yesterday, I’m going to quickly chime in.
I’ll repeat ad nauseum that Trump is doing in Iran what he’s always done - failing and then bullying/blaming others to cover up his incredible ignorance and incompetence.
I will say that part of his success is his ability to spout absolute nonsense and blatantly lie with complete malignant internal integrity.
Before everyone comments to eviscerate me for that statement, what I mean is his malignant brain does not allow him to do/say anything other than what it needs to satisfy his illness. So internally, he truly believes what he is saying, no matter how provably wrong or idiotic. He has to - otherwise, the wiring in his brain would short out.
Even given his stupid speech last night, this is what I think we should take away and use from yesterday:
Trump: We can't take care of daycare. We're a big country. We're fighting wars. It's not possible for us to take care of daycare, Medicaid, Medicare, all these things.

Billions for a war of choice that we are losing, and which is exposing our military (as seems to always be the case) of fighting the last wars, instead of paying for things like healthcare and childcare and “all these individual things” that is what government is meant to do.
Trump is proposing a $600 billion increase in military spending for the next fiscal year, a 66% increase for a military budget that is already more than the all the rest of the countries in the top ten in military spending combined. Increased spending for a U.S. Department of Defense has failed every annual audit since audits began in 2018 (It is the only major federal agency that has never passed a full audit).
F47 requested a defense budget of $1.5 trillion—$600 billion more for FY27. This would be a 66% increase in military spending. Meanwhile, early career scientists are in limbo. Canada is starting to look good. This 1970s video sounds familiar. #Pinks

BTW, love that Vietnam era anti-war ad. Classic! And informative in a tasty sort of way…
Paraphrasing of Trump’s words - “we need to increase our military budget so we can’t afford healthcare and childcare and all these individual things” is an ad that writes itself…
