The Middle of Nowhere

Thanksgiving travel day today - an 8-hour drive through the middle of nowhere.

Quick story.

When our kids were little and we would go on long drives, like kids everywhere, they would get edgy. Inevitably, the questions would start:

Kids: “Are we there yet?”, “Where are we?”

Us: “Not yet, we’re in the middle of nowhere”.

Kids: “Where is that?”

Us: “it’s right here”.

Kids:

Eventually, the more drives we went on, they thought they were catching on.

Kids: “Are we in the middle of nowhere yet?”

Us: “Yep, we’re right here.”

Kids:

To this day as our kids have grown into young adults, the spouse and I are convinced that they think the “middle of nowhere“ is an actual yet undefined place somewhere within driving distance of where they grew up.

Who are we to burst their bubble?!

Bonus points if you can identify where we were driving through an hour or so ago.
