The firehose of sludge and sh*t keeps pumping at a furious pace. While all of these stories seem unrelated, there actually is one thread these all have in common (big reveal down below):
Trump can’t stop talking about his new ballroom in the middle of a damn war, an energy crisis, and affordability becomes more and more… unaffordable. Remember how the ballroom was going to be paid for by “private undisclosed interests”? Well, throw that out the window. The
$200, $300, $400 millionballroom now costs $1 billion and the Republicans want taxpayers to pay for it. A mill here, a bill there. Whatever. Next. Our favorite “What are emoluments?” Qatar Air Force One jumbo jet is back in the gilded news. It will be ready to fly for Trump this summer and although Trump claims it wasn’t a gift to him but to the U.S., after he
diesleaves office it will be a centerpiece in the lobby of his Miami-based Trumplibraryhotel. No quid pro quo here folks. Move along…Looks like the Department of
JusticeRetribution is working hard to root out every numbers-based threat to this POTUS they can find. 86 47? 86 46? 867-5309? Well, maybe not. OK, but certainly they’ll go after all those “86 46 folks, right? Oh? My bad. Well, at least we’ve dropped the cost-overrun probe into the new Fed Reserve building and the Fed Chair, right? Right? RIGHT?! Oops. Nothing to see here.We recently learned that our country badly needed a new passport design. Seems that renderings of the Star-Spangled Banner, Mount Rushmore and The Statue of Liberty on current passports wasn’t sufficiently patriotic. Thank God the State Department came to the rescue by offering a rendering of a
well-respectedconvicted, adjudicated rapist POTUS on new passports. Phew.At least our “mini war” is going swimmingly. Watch this linked video at the risk of permanent brain damage: “Why didn’t you just take the ships?”
And, of course, there’s Trump’s ongoing litigation against himself (well, against the country he nominally runs) because what President wouldn’t want a piece of the taxpayers’ money for his own personal stash?
There is too much more to list, but that’s a good start.
So what does this sample of disparate front-page news have in common? What’s the big reveal? None of it has anything to do with the legitimate role of government in actually helping the people of the United States , “certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. None of it has anything to do with helping the people of the United States afford gas, food, healthcare, housing; or makes them safer in their homes; or provide good jobs. In fact, none of it really has anything to do at all with the people of the United States whom he was elected to serve.
Which takes us back to what I’ll call - for now until it is widely adopted by Democrats - the Ossoff Principle: Relentlessly tie corruption and inequality to every single issue that matters to the vast majority of Americans who are not billionaires.
This principle should be applied in every stump speech, interview, ad, video and other communication coming out of every Democratic candidate campaign. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

One more related item. Last night was the Met Gala in New York City. It was sponsored by those true supporters of the “little people” - Jeff Bezos and his plastic wife Lauren Sanchez Bezos. The Met Gala is as close as we have come - so far - to the Capitol in the Hunger Games. I’ll post a couple of photos but check out all the photos in this link: 2026 Met Gala red carpet: See what the celebrities wore : The Picture Show : NPR.

If ever there was ammunition for Democrats to use in their campaigns to show voters that inequality and corruption are eating them for lunch, and that the Epstein Class “elite” don’t give a hoot about real people problems, this is it. USE IT!
