Man, the firehose of crap coming out of this Administration is never-ending and so tiresome, I wonder if its starting to wear me (and millions of others) down.
Deep breaths. No Kings Day is two days away - something to shoot for.
Today I’m going to highlight just a few examples of the brash illegality of Trump 2.0 for which they have not, and likely will not, suffer any consequences:
A federal judge tightened restrictions on ICE behavior in Chicago because she doesn’t believe the Trump Admin is complying with her initial orders.
Ramification? None. Why? Because this is a constitutional issue (not yet criminal) and disobeying judges orders on constitutional issues has exactly zero consequences.
Admin officials are spewing partisan propaganda in official statements and on official govt websites in clear and direct violation of the Hatch Act.
Ramifications? Basically none. The most severe remedy for violating the Hatch Act is removal from the Federal Service. There are also less severe punishments (suspension, banned for 5 years from federal employment). None of these will happen when the levers of “justice” are all in the hands of this crony administration.
Trump is illegally planning to pay the troops during the shutdown (free link behind paywall) by illegally moving money around that has not yet been appropriated for fiscal 2026 and has not been approved by Congress.
Ramifications? Again, none. Why? Because a) this is a constitutional issue, and b) the Republican controlled Congress is too chickensh^t to assert and protect their constitutional duties.
In the same vein, Trump’s threat to impose 100% tariffs on China are blatantly illegal.
Ramifications? None. See the “troop shutdown payment ramifications above”.
So much more I haven’t even touched.
I’ll be heading out on Saturday to my local No Kings Day rally. This is not sufficient to change things, but it is a necessary component. Please get everyone you know to get out here as well. Hint: IMHO, signs that show humor and some positivity are the best way to battle these moronic and un-American cowards.
