The Fire Hose of News Continues
So much going on:
Good on these guys. Several Dem lawmakers sent a letter to some of the large corporate law firms that cratered to Trump’s clearly illegal demands warning the firms that they might be breaking the law.
The lawmakers included Jamie Raskin, Adam Schiff and Richard Blumenthal. As I mentioned in a previous post, based on my experience as a candidate spending time on Capitol Hill and seeing how electeds react, we need to flood these guys with positive comments/communications thanking them for using any and all the tools at their disposal to stop the authoritarian takeover and gross corruption of our system. One of these tools is calling out and threatening thsoe who have caved.

This sounds crazy. Seems as if our completely unqualified Sec Def has called an in-0person meeting of every top general in the Armed Forces, including those scattered around the world. Per the Wash Post:
Hegseth orders rare, urgent meeting of hundreds of generals, admirals
The Pentagon has summoned military officials from around the world for a gathering in Virginia. Even top generals and their staffs don’t know the reason for the meeting.
This is… unprecedented. Dangerous. Not even telling the participants what the meeting is about. Maybe there is some super-secret planning that needs to take place, but anyone who’s ever run an org knows this is not a good way to operate. But, then again, we’re talking about Pete Hegseth.

Corruption isn’t always super visible. A few days ago, Trump announced that H-1B Visas would now come with a $100,000 fee. H-1B Visas allow U.S. employers to hire foreign workers in specialty occupations that require specialized knowledge and at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. These are for foreign professionals in fields like IT, engineering, finance, medicine, architecture, etc. This set tech and other companies ablaze. It’s bad enough that we are telling the world that we don’t want the best and brightest to come here, but there was a small subsection that gave away the corruption game.
“The document allows an exception “for any individual alien, all aliens working for a company, or all aliens working in an industry,” if the Secretary of Homeland Security determines “that the hiring of such aliens … is in the national interest and does not pose a threat to the security or welfare of the United States.” The proclamation doesn’t offer any specifics on what constitutes “the national interest.” It states that this determination is left to the discretion of the Secretary of Homeland Security, and the document doesn’t include any instructions to the secretary to initiate a rulemaking process that would produce guidance.”
So, The Trump Admin can exempt, well, anyone they want. Naked under the radar corruption at work.
