Still on vacation, but…
Per the AP:
WASHINGTON (AP) — Inflation rose last month as the price of gas, groceries and airfares jumped while new data showed applications for unemployment aid soared, putting the Federal Reserve in an increasingly tough spot as it prepares to cut rates at its meeting next week despite persistent price pressures.
Consumer prices increased 2.9% in August from a year earlier, the Labor Department said Thursday, up from 2.7% the previous month and the biggest jump since January. Excluding the volatile food and energy categories, core prices rose 3.1%, the same as in July. Both figures are above the Federal Reserve’s 2% target.
The sheer incompetence of these bumbling ignoramuses when it comes to running, well, anything, is mind-boggling.
Of course, Trump promised in August of 2024 on the campaign trail that “When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on Day One…”
The Kirk killing will suck the oxygen out of the Capitol for a bit. But we need to keep the pressure on our electeds (especially Dem electeds) to hammer on two things: The Epstein files (which, btw, Kirk wanted fully exposed) and the economy (including inflation, healthcare costs and tariff tax increases).
Sorry, but off to eat some damn good pastries…
