The Dunning-Kruger War

Guess the bombs didn't really do the job

One man’s obliteration is another man’s couple of months, apparently:

An initial classified US assessment of Donald Trump’s strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities over the weekend says they did not destroy two of the sites and likely only set back the nuclear program by a few months, according to two people familiar with the report.

The report produced by the Defense Intelligence Agency – the intelligence arm of the Pentagon – concluded key components of the nuclear program, including centrifuges, were capable of being restarted within months.

The report also found that much of Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium that could be put to use for a possible nuclear weapon was moved before the strikes and may have been moved to other secret nuclear sites maintained by Iran.

There are a fair number of people who didn’t vote, or voted for Trump for lower taxes, knowing that in general he’s a clown, and anyone who thinks he’s a clown doesn’t like it when he fools around with things that go boom:

President Donald Trump’s decision to launch airstrikes against Iran is broadly unpopular with Americans, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS after the strikes.

Americans disapprove of the strikes, 56% to 44%, according to the survey, with strong disapproval outpacing the share who strongly approve. Most distrust Trump’s decision-making on the use of force in Iran, with about 6 in 10 worried that the strikes will increase the Iranian threat to the US.

Americans don’t like war, they don’t like freedom bombs, and they get it that Iran will probably retaliate in a nasty way. They’re smarter than the war-thirsty motherfuckers in the press, and smarter than the majority of Members of Congress.
