The Constellations Revealed Themselves One Star at a Time

This is a UNH poll that was in the field around the time of the shitposting stories, but before the Nazi tattoo story. Even if it’s off by 10%, the 100%-name-recognition-reasonably-popular Governor of the state getting whomped by someone who was unknown a couple of months ago sends a hell of a message. Presumably, Schumer’s internal polls showed similar results. So what is there to do other than pour millions into Mills’ campaign?

I realize that Platner’s campaign is probably over, but this race continues to fascinate me as an example of the quiet but vicious battle that’s happening in the Democratic Party right now. The Establishment, Old Guard, Gerontocracy — call it what you wish — wants a couple more years of power, damn the cost to party or country. So the part of the New York delegation that’s bought and paid for by Wall Street, crypto and AI do to Platner what they’re doing to Mamdani. They ignore the obvious sentiment of the base in an attempt to cling to power.
