Sowing and Reaping

Attended a political meeting this morning – one of the two opposition groups that have sprung up here locally. We met at the library and the leader of the group had reserved the library computers to show us how to write a letter of opposition using AI. The idea was we create these letters and then send them to local newspapers, post them on Facebook, send to GOP members of Congress, etc.

I refuse to use AI if I can help it and I saw my friend Monica and figured she’d hate AI too (she does) so I just sat with her and we gossiped over a local issue – a Right wing nut has targeted one of the judges here and it’s the talk of the town. I have encountered this nut in my law practice and she’s sort of a combination of an RFK Jr anti vaxxer and a QANON adherent.

Monica and I agreed this is not our problem and since the judge is a Republican and she’s surrounded by her fellow Republicans in our local court system they need to start policing their own. They created this far Right fringe fucking monster, not us. FAFO, indeed.

I did find out about a Hands Off protest on Saturday, though, so I’ll be attending that.
