This is the way:

This whole exchange is worth watching, but AOC doesn’t pull a punch:

They’re wrong. First and foremost, I want to let you know how shameful and sorry I am that there are people out there who scare so easily after an election, and I think it’s what people hate most about politics, which is politicians who will jump on this side or that side of a line at a moment’s notice. What’s so important to understand is that the moment you compromise the rights of a trans person in America, you compromise the rights of every citizen in America.

Shots fired. I think that people are hungry for this kind of direct, forthright statement of positions. I believe she just called Gavin Newsom a coward.

Not to tread on Kay’s AES beat, this video of him sitting down with a three-time Trump voter, a guy who’s got a position in his union at the VA. His wife also works at the VA. He feels like he was fooled by the second Trump term. AES says that he understands why people would have voted for Trump, because politics as usual “sucks” — people, especially young people, rightly ask what’s changed here? This is such an important point that Democrats generally treat with excuse making.

El-Sayed also makes the point that once Democrats stopped fighting for working people, the only thing left was a culture war. His take is that the culture takes care of culture wars, and that politics should be about how you allocate resources.

Finally, I’ll spare you the video on this one:

This was a bit of a masks off moment for the Democratic establishment. I don’t think Carville’s alone here, he’s just do disinhibited that he’ll actually say it.
