Access to mifepristone, the FDA-approved medication used to end pregnancy, could become severely limited following a ruling from a US appeals court on Friday, which temporarily blocked the drug from being dispensed through the mail.
The decision is for now the most sweeping threat to abortion access since the supreme court rolled back abortion rights in 2022, said Kelly Baden, vice-president at the Guttmacher Institute, an abortion rights advocacy group.

Meanwhile, with the FDA now under Trump, the agency has opened a review of the medication. Once this analysis is completed, officials at the agency said, they will determine if changes to its regulations are warranted.
Since there’s no raccoon penis in Mifepristone, I’m guessing it might be outlawed by the FDA.
These fuckers have been gunning for Plan C for a long time, and the one thing that we all should know by now is that the sons of the Confederacy win all their fights, in the end, unless we stomp them down. They’ve returned the South to Jim Crow. Now they want to return abortions to back alleys.
I believe that New York physicians are still prescribing Mifepristone over Zoom because fuck the Confederacy, and it’s specifically legal in their state. This is one thing that Kathy Hochul has gotten totally right, and good for her, especially because she was raised Irish Catholic in Buffalo. She’s a few years older than me, and I sure know what I was taught in Catholic catechism classes when I was a kid — specifically, films with buckets of purportedly aborted dead baby parts. I’m not kidding. I hope other blue state hero physicians — they’re not doing this for money — are doing the same.
At least some red state non-heroes are being sanctioned by their medical board:
The Texas Medical Board has disciplined three doctors ProPublica previously investigated whose patients died after receiving delayed or inappropriate pregnancy care under the state’s strict abortion ban.
Two of the doctors failed to properly intervene as a pregnant teenager repeatedly sought care for life-threatening complications, the board found. The third did not provide a dilation and curettage procedure to empty a miscarrying patient’s uterus, and she ultimately bled to death.
The D&C is a life saving procedure invented in 1840 (and maybe way earlier). Now we’re denying it to women because some Confederate Foghorn Leghorn politicians think it’s an “abortion”.
Anyway, back to the title of this post. I have a modest proposal: a law stating that abortion is legal across the US, and so is Plan C. The Supreme Kings will try to strike it down, but I understand that Congress can say that a law isn’t reviewable by the Supreme Kings, so maybe a law saying that they can’t review anything surrounding reproductive health would be a good idea. I’m not a fucking lawyer, but perhaps some of the millions of dollars we send to the Democratic Party could pay for some legal research on this.
Side note: Mifepristone isn’t just used for traditional “abortion”. I know someone who worked at a fertility clinic, and there are instances where fertility treatment ends up in a totally non-viable pregnancy, and Mifepristone is used in those instances. Since fertility treatment in the Confederacy is generally provided to middle-class mostly white couples, I guess the Foghorn Leghorns pretend that there aren’t tons of embryos lost in the process, just as they urge their mistresses to abort the results of their extra-marital affairs.
