What saved the party's butt after that formal poll in 1990 was that a Presidential candidate came along that basically threw the left wing of the party under the bus and advertised it as a "Third Way" to approach politics.

I just received 3 fundraising emails from Gay Valimont, the woman running for the seat Gaetz vacated. They all came at basically the same time. They looked pretty amateurish, as almost all of the email solicitations I receive from Democrats look. I have to believe they were created with help from the DCCC or some consultant because they include the phrase "MAGA Extremism". They repeat that all the time. So generic, so weak. Tell me how we can fuck over Musk! Show that you're mad about something!

No shade on Valimont - you take the money and help you can get when you're running a campaign. But when every email is weak like this, I think there's a set of consultants who have a lock on email marketing and the DCCC makes the campaign use them. I have a lot of clients who do email marketing, and even the little operations push out emails that are miles ahead of Democrats in terms of quality and professionalism.

Thank you for your efforts! But we don't need you taking the blame. You got started in the right direction when you mentioned "we're paying literally billions of dollars to return absolutely no value". Punch up! Not sideways, or down, or toward yourself.
