I have a memory of a conversation in a bar in a small town in western Nebraska, with an unpleasant young man who was complaining, loudly, about his military service. He was in the National Guard and had been called out after January 6, 2021 to protect Washington, DC. He clearly had watched enough Fox News to believe that the rioters were just a bunch of harmless tourists. His beef was that the accommodations were poor — at the beginning, they were housed in a parking garage, and the food was MREs or similar.

My thought at the time was that, well, sometimes you’re going to have to just suck it up as part of your military service. Sometimes events happen and we need to send soldiers into situations without perfect, or even good, logistics. The Iran War isn’t one of those times — we started it at a time of our choosing. So, there’s no excuse for this:

The US Military has historically won wars due to their mastery of logistics. I wouldn’t doubt that they’d be able to feed all the sailors, airmen and women, and Marines who are deployed there if there had been a plan and some advance warning. There isn’t and there wasn’t, so now their plates look like something out of a bad prison flick.

The morons in charge, especially Hegseth, are all about the “warfighters,” pounding their chests and saying “prayers” that loosely quote Pulp Fiction.

I wonder if Hegseth knows that the prayer he likes was originally recited by a black man. I doubt it.

Keeping the troops fed with decent food isn’t manly enough, apparently, so I guess they’ll just sit around on ships, eating slop, while their readiness degrades.

Trump, his son-in-law, the couchfucker and the real estate agent can’t keep their peace conditions straight, so as of last evening, nobody could say definitively whether the Strait of Hormuz is open or closed.

We’re also learning that Kash Patel, like Hegseth, is a useless drunk.

When Hegseth mentioned that “he path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men” I don’t think he understood that the latter part of that sentence was a reference to him and the other incompetents running the show.
