Apparently the next big MAGA thought is to focus on Anthony Fauci as the object of hate. This is a deep cut from right-wing nutjob Ben Garrison, but I think it encapsulates the strategy:

Apparently Rand Paul is having a hearing where Fauci is going to show up and testify. Paul “thinks” that COVID came from a lab in China.
(By the way, if and when Democrats get control of one or more chambers of Congress, we’re going to subpoena a bunch of Republicans, and they’re all going to ignore them. We need to figure out how to make them comply. Fauci, who is 85, is coming voluntarily. MAGA will not.)
Anyway, let’s talk about the deep psychic wound that COVID left. We all suffered from it. It sucked. We all deserve to air our feelings about it, talk it out, and be sad. Thousands of our friends and relatives died. We all, for the good of everyone, had to hide out in our homes and go out with masks. It was unpleasant, it cost us all money, and it took a long time to get over.
MAGA does not own the pain over COVID. They do not get to tell us a fable about masking being the worst oppression that’s happened since Pol Pot, vaccinations being useless and killing people, and that if only doctors had prescribed Ivermectin that everything would have been better. But, they’re trying.
Democrats did the right thing. Republicans/MAGA were wrong, they wasted time and money, and what they did killed people. Those are the simple facts. The Fauci hearing distractions can’t take that away.
We, the non-willfully-ignorant, did the best we could with the information we had. Our careful masking, and our receptivity to vaccination, saved many lives. We’re the good guys. Let’s not forget it, and let’s not forget how much harder MAGA made the pandemic. This is one we can own, if we’re able to overcome the noise that MAGA is making about it.
