Robert Mueller was a good man and he sure didn’t deserve this from Trump:

So, RIP Mueller, but I hope that the self-loathing, weak need of Democrats to get credibility by putting a Republican in charge of important tasks dies with him. Here’s the tweet that I think we should all be paying attention to:

This is not just Trump’s opinion. It’s the opinion of the 30% or 40% or whatever percent of the population is MAGA. Democrats are an enemy of America on Fox News, NewsMax, right wing Twitter and every other place where Republicans hang out. That makes it the opinion of the Republican Party. Which means that our leadership shouldn’t just be attacking Trump — they should be attacking Republicans. Without qualifiers like “MAGA Republicans” or “extreme Republicans.” They’re just fucking “Republicans”, period, and they’re destroying the country.

I don’t begrudge people their hobbies or obsessions, but I don’t sit around hoping for Trump’s death. Because when he dies, another Republican will take his place. That Republican probably won’t have the strange mix of feral cunning, total lack of principle, and ability to charm the rubes that Trump has. But that person will still be a Republican, and they will still want to have storm troopers in the streets who will kill Democrats, they’ll still want women to bleed out in hospital parking lots rather than having “abortions” and they’ll still want to hate anyone whose skin color isn’t white enough for them.

One more thing about Mueller. It’s admirable that even though he was very privileged, he served in the Vietnam War. I believe there are more than a few Democrats who did that, including a guy named John Kerry. This is how Republicans treated his service:

Mueller just got the treatment that Republicans give any person who served our country honorably, if that person is a convenient target of hatred to serve their short-term political ends.
