Afternoon quickie:

in an energy crisis we’re using $1 billion of taxpayer money to pay a company to not make local, renewable energy www.nytimes.com/2026/03/23/c...

There is absolutely no logical reason to do this other than Trump’s hatred of wind because someone built an offshore wind farm off the coast of Scotland in front of his golf course. So taxpayers will pay to cancel a project that would get us closer to true energy independence and Total Energies, the French company building the wind farm, will then (theoretically) invest in oil/gas projects in Texas that will make us more energy dependent on outside forces.

We’re talking infinite-dimensional chess being played here by the Trump Admin. So clever it looks incredibly stupid. Genius!
