Not so radical after all

Massachusetts has already done a lot that Mamdani wants to do in NYC.

Civilian-led public safety? Massachusetts does that. Free buses? Yes. Phasing it in. Boston runs three free MBTA routes. Free Pre-k? Massachusetts is phasing it in right now.

Massachusetts also passed a 4% millionaire surtax in 2023. The same media and conservatives (but I repeat myself) said the rich would flee - instead the percentage of millionaires went up.

Too, Boston (along with some other cities) has already passed some measures to limit rent increases.

They teach new lawyers to do what’s called a “50 state survey” of state law on a particular subject if they’re writing a brief. Compare and contrast, like your 7th grade English teacher taught you. Maybe media could try that instead of incoherently shouting “socialism!” over and over.
