Noem Gestapo Can't be a Steady Job
We need to be clear that ICE will get the DOGE treatment

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Department of Homeland Security said Wednesday that it is removing age limits for new hires at the agency responsible for immigration enforcement, as it aims to expand hiring after a massive infusion of cash from Congress.
The department said in a news release that it would waive age limits for new applicants so “even more patriots will qualify to join ICE,” the agency responsible for finding, arresting, detaining and removing people who are in the U.S. illegally.
The current age limit is 21-37 or 40, depending on the job. Clearly, the already low quality of ICE thugs is going to decrease under this plan.
The politics of this, and other Trump-era lawlessness, should be pretty simple: we’re going to come after you if you broke the law, and also we’re not going to worry about being nice. We’re also going to cut ICE to the bone.
If a political party is going to be an alternative to the current regime, this kind of stuff needs to be said, now. I don’t think that a bunch of masked agents with no nametags wilding around big cities is popular in any way, shape or form. ICE is a separate issue from immigration — they’re just rounding up immigrants who have no criminal record, and also picking up citizens while they do it. It’s disgusting and deeply un-American.
