No one will admit they defended this in 20 years

I think there should be a reckoning around the liberals and Democrats who denied this, smeared anyone who raised it as “antisemitic” and cheered on prosecutions and deportations of the college students who tried to bring it to the attention of the American people who are funding it:
International food-security experts said a famine has taken hold around Gaza City, the first-ever such determination in the Middle East and one that puts more pressure on Israel as it prepares to expand the war amid a dire humanitarian situation.
The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, a global body tasked with assessing famine conditions, has long pointed to hunger and malnutrition in Gaza, but said Friday that food shortages in and around Gaza City, in the north, have grown so severe the situation now meets the official criteria of a famine. Such announcements are rare.
The IPC said the whole of the Gaza Strip is experiencing a hunger crisis—with acute malnutrition and hunger-related deaths increasing across the enclave—although the degree of severity varies from area to area.
The United Nations reported growing malnutrition and an increasing number of hunger-related deaths among children over the summer. Data published by the U.N. children’s agency, Unicef, shows that the number of children diagnosed with malnutrition in Gaza increased to more than 12,000 in July from just over 2,000 in February.
I personally will not listen to anyone in power who hid from this, insisted it was way too complicated for mere mortals to understand or smeared the people who tried to sound the alarm. In my view they’re as morally bankrupt and deluded as the liberals and Democrats who cheered on the invasion of Iraq.
Cannot, should not, be trusted with profound decisions or analysis. People who deliberately ignored what was right in front of their faces because it was politically inconvenient to admit it was happening and implicated some of their fan favorite politicians.
