Schumer D-Israel, Jeffries learns to count
A reader sent me this:
Schumer: “I have many jobs as leader.. and one is to fight for aid to Israel — all the aid that Israel needs. I will continue to fight for it. “We delivered more security assistance to Israel, our ally, under my leadership than ever, ever before. We will keep doing that.” Video by Jacob Kornbluh

He got it wrong: “I have many jobs as leader, and there’s none I take more seriously than fighting for aid to Israel. The rest, well, you’ve seen it.”
I guess I shouldn’t be too hard on Chuck because this happened:
49-40 vote with 5 Dems voting yes, they flip to no and the vote fails! This is a lifetime judicial appointment

That was a vote on a federal judge in Arkansas. There are peaceful protesters being murdered in the streets, and some Senate brains can’t bring themselves to vote against a Trump judicial appointment.
Let’s turn to Hakeem Jeffries. After an exquisitely poorly timed decision to not whip an anti-ICE vote, followed by the Pretti murder in Minneapolis, his arithmetic skills seem to have improved. I hope you’re sitting down and that you’ve taken your morning heart medication, because he’s decided to make Speaker Johnson find his own votes on the appropriation package. I mean, it’s almost as if he realizes that Johnson has a bunch of nutters in his caucus and the House party split will be 218-214 until March at the earliest.
So Jeffries is doing the bare fucking minimum that an opposition party should do, and Democrats in the Senate are doing less than that. Masked goons are wilding on the streets of our cities, and this is where we’re at in DC.
