While the cover picture is satire and not real, Trump’s actions are not that different from communist authoritarian rulers of the past and current.
Let’s try a short weekend thought experiment. for those who regularly read my stuff, you know I think humor, derision and sarcasm are good ways to fight back against the lies and unpopular policies/actions of Trump, hi cronies and his complicit supporters.

Trump Admin 2.0 is centralizing power in the Executive Branch, a hallmark of communist authoritarian regimes
Trump Admin 2.0 seems to side more often with Putin, Xi and Kim Jong Un more often than he sides with his own government
Trump Admin 2.0 is transforming the civil service from a professional bureaucracy to one professing loyalty to Dear Leader, a hallmark of communist authoritarian regimes
Trump Admin 2.0 is literally taking ownership in private corporations and picking favorites instead of letting the “market” decide, mimicking state-owned enterprises which are a hallmark of communist authoritarian regimes
Trump Admin 2.0 is using government resources and dollars to wield power against people and States he doesn’t like, a hallmark of communist authoritarian regimes
Trump Admin 2.0 is using its pwoer to intimidate, coopt and silence independent media, a hallmark of communist authoritarian regimes
Trump Admin 2.0 is seeking control over and confrontation with courts, Congress, inspectors general and independent agencies, a hallmark of communist authoritarian regimes
One big benefit of this is it may literally drive Trump more insane than he already is and truly get under his orange skin.
Messaging matters.
So - does Trumpism = Communism make sense as a message? Can it coopt Trump’s messaging? Will it catch on with the public if messaged properly?
How about all of us try to groupthink and come up with a catchy slogan that might breakout and breakthrough?
