If a Ten Ton Truck Kills the Both of Us

The prosecutors released text messages between Charlie Kirk’s alleged killer and his trans girlfriend:

Heaven knows they’re miserable now, and grandpa’s rifle in his hand felt reassuring.

Rule by narcissists — people who only only love themselves — has a key blind spot: narcissists have no issue treating their objects of hatred like objects, not human beings. But their objects of hatred are considered human beings by those who love them. And, clearly, Charlie Kirk’s alleged killer loved someone who Charlie hated.

If you turn the world upside down and shake it, God only knows what’s going to happen. There’s probably more ugliness like this to come. Though it sure doesn’t excuse it, love might explain what happened in Utah.
