Am I reading this correctly?

Let. Me. Get. This. Strait. (pun intended in bad taste 😬)

We are at war with Iran. For an unknown number of reasons, but including: to stop the “imminent threat” of attack from Iran after Israel’s planned attack, to stop them from getting nukes, to cause regime change, to degrade their military, to destroy their navy, to protect and “rescue” their people, to stop their funding of proxy groups, to get rid of their missiles, and, now, of course, to open the Strait (that was open before we started the war).

So, for the third (?) time (hard to keep count) Trump has now posited a deadline that he self-postponed. This time “indefinitely”.

This one makes my head hurt.

Am I crazy, or has Trump essentially handed the total initiative to Iran? We are now indefinitely suspending any continuation of our War of Choice until our enemy comes up with their plan to… end the war?!

I thought we were winning? But now we’ll just kick back while the world economy starts to crumble. While Iran still refuses to let commercial traffic transit the Strait. While we spend billions we frankly cannot afford keeping basically our entire navy in the Middle East on their longest deployments ever. While prices for almost everything inexorably rise.

And wait for our enemy to come up with a solution?

WTF?!
