Let’s start with Silver Rail Elementary in Bend, Oregon. A teacher was a hero, unimaginably brave:
A 36-year-old Silver Rail parent, identified by relatives as Kaylub Giamanco, heard the gunshots as he was driving by and entered the school.
He saw an educator in a scuffle with the shooter, at which point he intervened, shooting and killing the teen.
Police say the teacher threw her phone at the shooter before tackling him, as she fought to disarm him.
“She almost certainly helped prevent more bloodshed,” Bend police chief Mike Krantz said.
Giamanco sounds like a decent guy:
“He is not seeking recognition,” she read. “But instead wishes to express his gratitude to the first responders, school personnel and community for the outpouring of love and support.”
He had two children in the school. He was described as an avid hunter and outdoorsman, so this is a case of a “good guy with a gun” who knew how to use it. One Facebook post I saw said that he’s “broken up” about what he did. More permanent hurt caused by guns, even for the good guy. The “good guy with a gun” fantasists don’t understand that good guys don’t want to kill disturbed 16 year-olds.

Donald Trump’s new press secretary, Katie Zacharia, was fired on Friday, just five days after she assumed the role, according to a White House official.
Zacharia confirmed her departure from the White House on Friday evening.
“President Trump is a kind, wonderful, gracious, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and hardworking man. I wish more Americans appreciated him. No one will ever make America great the way he has and continues to,” she wrote on social media. “It was an honor to work for him.”
What is it with these MAGAts who get some satisfaction from groveling before Trump. It’s really sick and weird. They know that he has no respect for them, and views them as dispensible if not disposable. He wouldn’t even ask his doctors to help them if they were dying in front of him:
