Flyers and Leopards and Tucson

Some reader submissions

First, reader S sent a flyer that arrived in the mail in Denver:

This is apparently an astroturf charter school organization. I don’t know the particulars, but one hard-and-fast nuts-and-bolts rule is that flyers cost a lot of money, so if you get one at your door that wasn’t handed to you by a volunteer, wonder why. In this case, I assume there’s some big money behind it.

Reader another S sent in some stories about deportations. One is about a man who was born on a military base and is now being deported to Jamaica. He essentially has no country. This one’s complicated because he has some kind of police record. S also sent a case where leopards are feasting on the faces of a Trump voter supporter who was detained by ICE. His seven-months-pregnant wife feels blindsided.

Reader T sent in this short interview of Deja Foxx, a 25 year-old candidate for the special election in AZ-7, the seat that was vacated by the death of Raul Grijalva in March. This is a blue seat (D+13). The last I read about this seat is that Grijalva’s daughter is the favorite to win the primary. Grijalva was great, but he stayed too long. Hope Foxx makes it a fight, at least.

I’m trying to get better at posting things readers sent in. I’ve been busy with family stuff so please don’t take it personally if I missed something you sent.
