Coming together

Attended another protest again yesterday - this one was a coalition called, loosely, “No Kings” and included some labor people, some Indivisible members, some local D Party people and a new group, “Deeds”, who are younger Lefties who don’t register as Democrats but vote our way.
Very well organized. We did a picket from the courthouse to a bridge and on each city block the organizer had us turn to the street and encourage passing motorists to honk in support.

They have another event planned for June 14th. I have a graduation to attend that day so won’t be going.
About this event
Fulton County Democrats, DEEDs of Defiance, and Williams County Indivisible Alliance are hosting this event.
In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings. NO KINGS is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies.
🚨On Saturday, June 14, we’re taking to the streets nationwide. We’re not gathering to feed his ego. We’re building a movement that leaves him behind.🚨
Who is King? The law is King.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
