So the White House Press Corps dinner is sometime this month (who cares when, really), and this is how they’re going to “protest”.

On a Saturday evening in late April, the ballroom of the Washington Hilton will feature the annual tradition of reporters dressing up in tuxedos and gowns to mingle, network, and celebrate their profession. But this year, when Donald Trump looks out into the crowd, he might spot some of those attending the White House Correspondents’ Association’s gala sporting unusual accessories: pocket squares and pins with the words of the First Amendment, in a subversive gesture supporting press freedom, reflecting the news media’s consciousness of the perilous moment it’s in, and why.

“Subversive”. It would be funny if it weren’t so lame. Here’s Jake Tapper with the merch:

Attending a journalism event where maybe some guests need to be reminded of our cherished press freedoms? Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press is offering some cool accessories — 1st Amendment pocket squares, phone wallets, fans, bags, and more! donate.rcfp.org/first-amendm...

Trump didn’t attend for a couple of years but he’s going this time, so of course these cowardly, access-driven, both-sidesing, sanewashing fuckers are all going to be there, because they don’t care about the function of the Presidency, just the form.

The First Amendment is wasted on these assholes. I don’t ever want to hear another lecture from some mainstream journalist about how it’s my duty to subscribe to one of their outlets. Their only audience is Democrats and some Independents, and they disrespect us every single day with the nonsense that they print. No wonder they’re failing. It’s like a bar owner expecting his patrons to drink warm piss, or an ice-cream shop selling chilled cowshit and calling it chocolate.
