Chaos Isn't a Distraction

It's a way of life

People like to say that Trump finds “distractions” to keep public attention from stuff like the Epstein files (or pick another topic), but that’s misreading the way Trumpism works. It’s just a rollicking shitshow of chaos. Stephen Miller and Steve Bannon didn’t sit down and say they should snatch Maduro because of the Epstein files — they and the other chaos agents running the show decided it was time to go down and get Maduro because that was the next thing they felt like doing.

Calling things a “distraction” is, to me, not great politics. Pointing out that Trump and MAGA seek out and enjoy chaos and disruption is, I think, good politics because anyone who’s serious about making money or even just living in the world knows that a predictable, calm government is far more conducive to prosperity than what we have now.

It isn’t “Trump Derangement Syndrome” to be sick and tired of chaos — it’s simple humanity, and it’s something worth pointing out.
