Call to Action and Statements of Action - Part II

Mister Mix read my mind with his post this morning. I don’t want to be too duplicative, but this is a critical - dare I say determinative - point he is making. Here is the example I was going to use:

The ACA tax credits expire at midnight. Millions will see their premiums skyrocket because Republicans refused to act. You deserve better, and Democrats will keep fighting to lower costs.

This is incredibly weak tea. “Democrats will keep fighting to lower costs” means… jack shit. No call to action and no specific action by leadership communicated to voters/followers.

How about:

  • We are sponsoring a bill to do x, y, and z that will bring down household costs by an average of $x,xxx

  • You can call your representative at xxx-xxx-xxx and tell them to extend the ACA tax credits NOW

  • We are fighting to get signatures on a discharge petition to bring ACA tax extensions to the House floor. If we can get it passed, it will save each household on the ACA an average of $x,xxx per month - Republican leadership is fighting against us on this

There are a thousand more ways to show action and get more specific on how Democrats are fighting for specific and quantifiable changes on behalf of the American people and not billionaires.

How hard can this be?
