Last night’s by-election in Clacton ended up with Nigel Farage winning handily against no real opposition except for a man dressed with a wastebasket on his head:

Farage is such a chickenshit right wing loser that he didn’t even appear at the count, which is a tradition in Britain. Count Binface has been on the same count stage as current PM Andy Burnham and former PMs Rishi Sunak, Teresa May and Boris Johnson. All of those people were good sports about it, unlike Nigel. According to Farage, there was some kind of threat against him and/or the venue, but the police denied that they told him not to come. Instead, he was at a “Farage Fest” in some rural area where Guardian reporters were denied entry.

The whole election was an attempt for Farage to claim a popular mandate and derail a parliamentary inquiry into his receipt of £5 million from a crypto billionaire. Parliamentary inquiries are halted when the person is no longer a member of Parliament. Well, today, it was re-started. Also, reading the story at the link, Farage’s new story is that he didn’t go to the count so he wouldn’t be “humiliated by nobodies”.

If the inquiry results in more than 10 days of suspension for Farage, he could be subject to another by-election as long as 7,500 members of his constituency agree, which is well under the number who voted for Count Binface. The Count says he’ll run again, but if there is another by-election, the other parties will also put up candidates.

Farage and Trump are cut from similar cloth, though Farage wasn’t born rich like Trump. Like Trump, he’s a liar and a grifter, and he led the Brexit effort, which has been a true catastrophe for Britain’s economy. Unfortunately, media and other institutions in the US and in the UK is wired such that rich liars and grifters get away with their lies and grift, generally. In this one case, hopefully a Recyclon from Sigma IX put a dent into his electoral future.

The election ballot was one of the longest in British history, and one voter used it to make her or his feelings known:
