One of the many things that is pretty fucking annoying about the current timeline is how we have to witness the tribe-enforced naiveté of the MAGA religion at times when one of them puts their private parts someplace they shouldn’t. The latest example is Bryon Noem, Kristi Noem’s husband, who’s apparently a crossdresser. The part about this whole little incident that gets me is the response from the Kristi Noem camp:

Former Department of Homeland Security chief Kristi Noem is “devastated” by salacious allegations that her husband, Bryon, lives a double life in which he dabbled in cross-dressing and chatted online with fetish models.

“Ms. Noem is devastated. The family was blindsided by this, and they ask for privacy and prayers at the time,” Noem’s representatives told The Post.

The minute I read that, I figured that Kristi is the one who dropped a dime on Bryon. It makes a twisted kind of sense. Kristi’s been carrying on a very public affair with Corey Lewandowski for years, but until the revelation about Bryon’s fetishes dropped, there’s no way she could divorce her husband without looking like the baddie. Then, voilà, out comes the news. Now she can act like she’s the victim of what I’m sure is considered some flavor of being gay by the people who might buy her request for prayers and privacy — the average Republican primary voter.

Kristi’s attempt to write her redemption song is assisted by the indoctrination that happens in white, evangelical “Christian” churches, where any kind of sexual misconduct gets covered up. Bryon having some kind of fetish that was hidden for years isn’t anything new to the average MAGA voter, it’s just how the system works.

The MAGA world has so much tolerance for sexual misconduct in their churches that the only thing that’s truly surprising about the whole Epstein situation is that he wasn’t a megachurch minister.
