I know there’s a lot more going on in the world, but this sums up the whole issue with MAGA and their Klan Christianity worldview:
Just weeks after reporting that Bryon Noem—currently married to proudly anti-LGBTQ former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem—liked to dress in drag as a large-breasted woman in his spare time, the Daily Mail has revealed that Noem had a nine-year online relationship with a large-breasted dominatrix, during which he frequently disparaged his wife and discussed transitioning from man to woman.
I’m sure Bryon voted for the trans-hating Republican candidates and supported his bigot wife, so from that perspective, he deserves little sympathy. That said, the whole thing is sad.
Bryon and Kristi Noem own a family farm near Castlewood, SD, which is in the eastern part of the state near Watertown, a small town I’ve been through many times. If he hadn’t been raised in a Foursquare Church, a Pentecostal religion founded by notorious grifter Aimee Semple McPherson, he might have been free to be who he wanted to be. Instead, here we are, with four kids and a wife who’s going to drop him like yesterday’s newspaper, while pretending tohat she’s some kind of martyr.
This is what MAGA wants: a world that on the surface looks like a Leni Reifenstahl film, but underneath is boiling cauldron of suppressed desires. Unfortunately for the victims of the cult, what people want in the real world is messy and difficult, as we can see from the sad case of Kristi Noem’s husband.
