Another MAGA Hate Killing

One of the (many) things that Steve M of No More Mister Nice Blog is good at is reminding us that right wingers hate us and want us dead. Today’s murder of an unarmed citizen in Minneapolis is another reminder of that, as is the Trump Administration’s decision to cut off funds for child care programs in blue states.

It’s no exaggeration to say that MAGA considers liberals as lesser human beings, and as legitimate targets of their hatred and anger. This goes double if the liberal is brown or black.

It isn’t Trump Derangement Syndrome to say this. Watch some right-wing media, look at what they’re saying on Xitter and other socials, and you’ll see that what I’m saying is no exaggeration.

If you accept this — and even if you think I’m a little overboard but still see a kernel of truth in it — then you should accept the following:

• Calls for empty bipartisanship or attempts to persuade Republicans to be reasonable are pointless. They’re in the thrall of their base, who hate liberals so much that any compromise with a liberal is treason against MAGA.

• Lack of consequences for 1/6 has emboldened MAGA — they believe they can do whatever they want without consequences.

• MAGA and Republicans know they might get beat in an election or two, but they know that Democrats are so beholden to following rules and norms that they can leverage Democrats’ rule and norm following to throw sand in the gears and prevent any real change, which will frustrate the electorate and have them voting for MAGA again as they did in 2024.

Unfortunately, the current leadership of the Democratic Party thinks they can bargain with these fuckers, and that as long as we win an election or two, everything will be all right. Blood on the streets in Minneapolis tells a different story.
