Nothing to see here, purely accidental, sorry to all involved:
Facebook’s parent company Meta apologized Sunday for suspending the “No Kings” Instagram account, saying the suspension was caused by a high increase in traffic by bots.
Meta spokesperson Andy Stone wrote in a statement that the company’s engineering team found the “spike that triggered the incorrect enforcement was primarily in the account’s ‘reading’ behavior” attributed to the rapid use of the Anthropic model Claude.
I don’t even know what that means, but nice work blaming another company’s AI. AI can only be failed, it can’t fail.
Moving on to another set of finger pointing:
President Trump claimed on Friday that neither he nor SpaceX founder Elon Musk caused Ukraine’s Starlink outage earlier this week as the president clashed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky over resumed strikes on Russian oil refineries.
“I didn’t do that. No, we didn’t do that at all. In fact, I don’t even think it was slowed down from what I understood. Because I just checked this morning,” Trump told reporters Friday while on his way to a campaign rally in Georgia.
If Elon didn’t do it, and Trump didn’t do it, it must have been witchcraft, I guess.
Perhaps I don’t understand the nature of accidents, but I think somebody might be lying here.
