A Great Time for the Ambitious
So many opportunities for politicians with some gumption

On Saturday, Rep Greg Casar went to Chip Roy’s district in Dripping Springs, TX and had a town hall with a cardboard cutout of Roy, who’s ducking town halls. And Rep Maxwell Frost and Sen Chris Murphy held a town hall for Republican Rep John James in Warren, MI.
Also on Saturday, this happened:
I am UNBELIEVABLY moved! Over 130 people attended our first public campaign event and collected an SUV’s worth of period products for Chicago’s Period Collective!!! Thank you to anyone who came!! If you want to know more about our beliefs + outreach efforts, go to katforillinois.com.

Abugahazaleh is raising her fundraising goal to $400K and recruited volunteers at the event. People drove from Indiana to attend. High schoolers attended. (My formerly-normie wife who is now extremely politically engaged was really moved by this particular action. Coupling giving with political action is extremely powerful.)
AOC reported that she and Bernie had crowds estimated at over 86,000 in three days.
A Trump+15 Pennsylvania Senate district now has a Democrat representing it for the first time in history after Tuesday’s special election.
Here’s what the Hands Off protest map looks like for the 4/5 event:

Every one of those protests are an opportunity for some Democrat to make a name for themselves. Every town hall with no Republican attending is an opportunity for an elected Democrat to show up and stand out. Every Democratic district with a rep who should have already retired is an opportunity for a candidate to run a primary.
This country is in crisis and leaders emerge from crisis. This isn’t hopium — it’s just a fact. Every young person who ever dreamt of politics should know that the time is now. Run for something. I hate what’s happening to our country, but I’m excited by the possibilities.
