A Federal Judge is Trying
Let’s see how the rest of her corrupt institution responds

Federal Judge Sara Ellis, an Obama appointee, has been doing her damndest to try to stop ICE in Chicago. She’s the judge who wanted to have Border Patrol Chief Greg Bovino, who is an evil human being, report to her daily on ICE activities in Chicago. This was overturned on appeal. The reason she did it is because these lawless fuckers come into her courtroom and lie freely and often, and that includes Border Patrol head Gregory Bovino, shown below in his Gestapo regalia:
Judge Ellis started her 90 minute ruling by reciting Carl Sandberg’s poem Chicago. Then:
Speaking from the bench from her courtroom at the Dirksen Federal Building in downtown Chicago for nearly 90 minutes, Ellis painstakingly detailed instances across the Chicago area in which border patrol agents used force against residents in apparent violation of her temporary restraining order.
Despite that violence, Ellis said Chicagoans “have shown up for each other” and she watched hours of videos showing them exercising their Constitutional rights by “standing watch to protect the most vulnerable among us.”
“The government would have people believe, instead, that the Chicagoland area is in a vice hold of violence, ransacked by rioters and attacked by agitators,” Ellis said. “That simply is untrue. And the government’s own evidence in this case belies that assertion.”
Ellis repeatedly said that federal agents, including Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino, lied about the threat posed by protesters and their conduct on the streets of Chicago. Federal agents “indiscriminately” fired tear gas at Chicagoans, tackled them, beat them, struck them with pepper balls and pointed weapons at them.
“I find the government’s evidence to be simply not credible,” Ellis said.
Judge Ellis repeatedly called out federal agents for lying to the court.
Her order is what a friend of mine would call a “Dick and Jane” document because it is as simplistic as the readers a lot of us had when we started reading. She goes into long detail on what the agents can and cannot do, and also spends time detailing forms of protest that are legal under the First Amendment. She also ordered that federal agents must wear a unique identifying number in two places on their uniforms.
There are obviously two issues here. First, some Republican judges might reverse her order. Second, if she’s not reversed, ICE won’t comply. Then what? I guess we’ll see.
